WoW: Forever Beta's September 24 Build Brings Big Class Tuning, Cheap Respecs
Blizzard took the WoW: Forever beta offline on September 24, 2026 and returned it with a large build featuring class reworks, a new Cooldown Manager, and temporary 1-silver respecs. The update also fixed a memory leak and several bugs, giving testers a clearer picture of the game ahead of its November 4, 2026 launch.
Maintenance and New Build
Blizzard's Kaivax announced beta maintenance beginning around 19:50 UTC on September 24 to deploy a new build, with no immediate ETA. The client had already been updated once that week, on September 22 to build 1.60.1 Build 69977, fixing Mac display/stability issues and controller navigation. The September 24 development notes, posted officially by Blizzard, detailed a lengthy change log covering bug fixes, class balance, items, quests, and UI, alongside an updated Known Issues list noting unresolved problems like cooldown-tracking bugs and a Stormwind minimap display issue.
Class, Race and Item Changes
Officially, Blizzard adjusted several classes: Druid's Wrath base damage rose about 50%, Feral's Mangle was renamed Primal Bite, and Paladin's Holy Strike damage scaling and cooldown were reworked. The Gnome racial Eureka was changed to a flat 10% discount on Mana, Rage, or Energy costs, which Wowhead and Icy Veins both described as a heavy nerf after players called the racial overtuned. A memory leak causing performance degradation was fixed, per Blizzard's notes and confirmed separately by Icy Veins.
Cheaper Respecs and New Cooldown Manager
Blizzard made talent respecs cost just 1 silver if players hadn't recently changed talents, though the discount only resets once per hour and costs rise after the first reset; this is confirmed by Blizzard as temporary, beta-only. Wowhead and Icy Veins both reported on the change, calling it highly requested. Separately, Blizzard enabled a Cooldown Manager feature (currently supporting Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior, and Warlock) as an opt-in Gameplay Enhancement option, also covered by Wowhead.
Unconfirmed: New Gear Sets Datamined
Icy Veins reported that new gear sets have reportedly been discovered on the latest beta build, though this find is not mentioned in Blizzard's official development notes and has not been confirmed by Blizzard.
