Blizzard announces Stress Test schedule and access
Blizzard's Kaivax announced on October 20 that the WoW: Forever Beta would go offline on October 21 so the game could run on its proper regional hardware for a Stress Test. Start times varied by region, including 2:00 p.m. PDT, 5:00 p.m. EDT, and 19:00 CEST, with each test running four hours before an end time such as 6:00 p.m. PDT. Blizzard stated that any player with a WoW account could join, with no active subscription needed, via the Battle.net App's Game Version selector.
Test goes live, beta set to end permanently Friday
Following the scheduled announcement, Blizzard confirmed via Kaivax that the Beta was going offline shortly before 2:00 p.m. PDT on October 21 to begin the Stress Test in that region. Blizzard said all Stress Test characters, including names, will be deleted once the test ends, after which the Beta will reopen. Blizzard confirmed it plans to close the WoW: Forever Beta permanently at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, October 23. Icy Veins and Wowhead both reported on the offline period and start times, directing players to switch versions in the Battle.net app.
Community coverage amid approaching beta close
Alongside Stress Test coverage, Wowhead also published analysis on the state of Protection Paladins in WoW: Forever, noting it comes as the Stress Test approaches and the Beta's official end nears.
